Restorative Programs
Restoration is the process of bringing back to the original state; Recovery, is the process of regaining, reclaiming, or redeeming something lost. STAAR Foundation believes that the idea or concept of "enriching life," restoring lives, recovering or even redeeming time lost in life or during one's life is a process. Processes involve "phases" or steps or stages of treatment.
As a person moves from Stage one: Pre-contemplation, Stage Two: Contemplation, Stage Three: Preparation, Stage Four: Action, Stage 5: Maintenance/Recovery the idea is to assist with preparing you to build a "brand new you," by motivating recovery assisting in finding a new safe place called sustainability. Both restoration and recovery seeks through treatment to get one to "admit" their drug or alcohol abuse which is a step. A first step. A baby step.
STAAR Foundation believes that Life Skill Curriculum is needed to successfully support treatment during each stage. Many with addictions and battling substance abuse issues actually lack basic life skills. We offer life skills that actually help one regain, reclaim, and redeem the time lost due to broken family relationships, incarceration, homelessness, and substance abuse. We provide these skills in 10-modules, well facilitated in a safe learning workshop environment "interactively" among peers, through engaging, passionate, inspiring volunteers.

Life Skills not only contributes to a process of restoration but lifes skills are also designed to "enrich lives' which is necessary to help in recovery and eventually successful with navigation through life. [ TIFFANY"S QUOTE]
