Life Skills Program

The purpose of the program is to promote social & emotional skills, develop interpersonal values, build positive character, increase victim awareness, provide substance education and explore restoration of family support & connections. We provide these skills in 10-modules that are facilitated in a safe learning workshop environment "interactively" among peers, with engaging, passionate, inspiring facilitators, who are subject matter experts.

STAAR Foundation believes that Life Skill Curriculum is needed to successfully support individuals in treatment and those being released from incarceration to support their transition in becoming a productive member of society. The life skills program will help one regain, reclaim, and redeem the time lost due to broken family relationships, incarceration, homelessness, and substance abuse.   Life Skills not only contributes to a process of restoration but lifes skills are also designed to ‘enrich lives' which is necessary to help in recovery and eventually successful with navigation through life. ~ Tiffany McCollum, Life Skills Coordinator
